Cloud computing has become a reality and organizations across the globe are looking for a training solution in order to build cloud competencies in their organization. The ITIL Foundation + Cloud Essentials course allows learners to have a basic understanding of ITIL service management, as well as address the business and technical perspectives of cloud computing in one condensed training course. While learning the core concepts of service management, participants also learn more about how to adopt, operate and govern the cloud. On completion of this condensed course, participants will be able to take the ITIL Foundation Exam and the CompTIA Cloud Essentials™ Exam and enjoy the recognition and benefits of both ITIL and Cloud Computing expertise and professional status.


Course Description

This exciting and condensed 4-day classroom-based course, fully updated for ITIL 2011, introduces learners to the lifecycle of managing IT services to deliver to business expectations by using an engaging, case study based approach. The course also addresses the business and technical perspectives of cloud computing— how to adopt, operate and govern the cloud.

At the end of the course, learners will be taking 2 exams: One for ITIL Foundation, which is a requirement for entry into the future ITIL Intermediate level training courses, and one for the associated CompTIA Cloud Essentials™ Exam.

Learning Objectives

The Cloud Essentials course uses scenario-driven learning that puts participants in the right mindset to apply the principles in a realistic setting. The role-play activities included in this course use real-life situations that can occur in participants’ daily lives. Activities such as brainstorms, quizzes, and discussions add to the interactive nature of this course. At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the common terms and definitions of cloud computing.
  • Understand the business benefits and business considerations of cloud computing.
  • Understand cloud computing from a technical perspective and recognize the various techniques, methods, challenges, and types of clouds.
  • Understand the impact and changes of cloud computing on IT service management.
  • Explain typical steps that lead to the successful adoption of cloud computing and understand the implications for an organization.
  • Recognize the compliance, risk, and regulatory consequences of cloud computing and its financial and strategic impact on an organization.

Prerequisites

None, although a familiarity with IT service delivery is beneficial.

ITIL Foundation: Participants receive a copy of the classroom presentation material. 

Cloud Essentials: Participants receive a copy of the classroom presentation material and the Participant Handbook, which contains Reference Material. In addition, a sample exam is provided.

About the ITIL Foundation Examination:

Accredited Foundation training is strongly recommended but not a prerequisite.

The exam is closed book, with 40 multiple-choice questions. The pass score is 65% (26 out of 40 questions). The exam lasts 60 minutes.

About the Cloud Essentials Examination

Accredited Foundation training is strongly recommended but not a prerequisite.

The exam is closed book, with 40 multiple-choice questions. The pass score is 65% (26 out of 40 questions). The exam lasts 60 minutes.
